Complaints procedure

If something has gone wrong, this is how to raise it and what happens next.

Draft — not yet reviewed

This is a structural placeholder written to show what belongs on the page. It is not legal advice and must be reviewed and completed by a solicitor, and checked against the firm's actual practices and regulatory memberships, before the site goes live.

Step one — tell your property manager

Most issues are resolved quickly by raising them directly with your named property manager, by phone or email.

Step two — a formal complaint

If you remain unhappy, write to us setting out what has gone wrong and what you would like done. We will acknowledge within a stated number of working days and respond substantively within a stated period. Those timescales need to be confirmed and inserted.

Step three — review

If our response does not resolve matters, you may ask for the complaint to be reviewed by a director, who will issue a final written response.

Step four — independent redress

If you are still dissatisfied after our final response, you may refer the matter to the independent redress scheme of which we are a member. The scheme name, membership number and referral timescales must be inserted here. Property agents in England are generally required to belong to a government-approved redress scheme, so this section must reflect the firm's actual membership.
